1996-2000

The Harwich & District and Brentwood Caledonian bands merged in July 1995, forming the Red Hackle Pipe Band. The merger collapsed in January 1996, with the nucleus of the Essex Caledonian Pipe Band taking shape immediately. We officially competed for the first time under Pipe Major Jock Stobbs in July 1996.

Wally Wallace became Pipe Major in 1997 and the band grew at a rapid pace, setting the foundations for success in the following years.
